Old Distillery Lodge Reviews

Firstly, we all had a wonderful time the property is ideal for a multigenerational family celebration. Having two large communal spaces allowed the family members to do their own thing without being on top of each other. The bedrooms, particularly the 2 suites downstairs, were spacious and beautifully furnished. The kitchen was very well appointed with just about everything you would ever need 2 dishwashers are a great idea and the fridge was enormous, vital for the amount of food consumed ! Having the Dog House was great for one of our 2 dogs who needs some quiet space sometimes. And the games room in the garage was well used by the youngsters in particular the equipment was in much better condition that I have experienced previously in shortterm lets. The hot tub was also very popular. Just to reiterate, we all had a wonderful time in what is a really lovely house

We enjoyed the fact that the house is very clean and spacious, with excellent bedrooms and en suites and equipped with TVs, board games, books etc. However, the kitchen is not equipped for cooking for 19 people. Only 1 very large jug, no wooden spoon, poor toaster, oven shelves not adjustable, no instructions for equipment like oven, rubbish disposal, too few pot lids for number of pots etc. No oven glove. Reported on phone but none supplied. This is a safety issue when handling hot oven dishes. Lots of good things about the property but some deficiencies also.
What a fantastic place to stay to celebrate my 60th birthday. There were 14 of us in total and we spent it in comfort. Would definitely visit again with a similar sized group.
We had a fabulous weekend stay at the Old Distillery Lodge. Perfect for a family get together celebrating a big birthday! Everywhere was spotless and there was a great amount of space for everyone. The views were amazing and plenty of nice walks and places to eat in the local area just a short walk away. Any issues we had alarm going off, couple of broken plastic glasses were dealt with almost instantly by the team and owner. We had a great time and cant wait to book up again and stay for longer!
Old Distillery Lodge is everything the photos show, a beautiful spacious house with stunning views in a lovely village setting. The information we received before arriving was excellent, the app is a great idea. Every bedroom was spacious and beautifully decorated. The communal areas were great especially the lounge on the entry level, it was great to have an additional lounge for some members of the group to break away to. Everything you could need is available. We enjoyed the plentiful array of games, relaxing in the hot tub and just spending time together as an extended family, we also loved that you could walk on either country walks or a walk to the village straight from your door. All in all a great place to celebrate an 80th Birthday.

We absolutely adored our stay at the Distillery Lodge, its the perfect place for big groups as there is so much space. The house by far exceeded our expectations and was well stocked, especially in the kitchen for making meals for lots of people! We would love to stay again!

Get together for family of 14 all ages. Old Distillery was absolutely excellent. Spacious plenty of room for all ages and children to play. Cleanliness excellent and everything supplied you would need. Living in such a lovely house made our holiday all the better. Thank you to the owners. Hopefully will be back.
The property was clean, comfortable and maintained to a high standard was close to the local amenities. Communication around the stay was very good. My guests and I all very happy would recommend!
Everything about our stay at Old Distillery Lodge was amazing. We were a group of 8 adults and 8 children, ranging from 4years old to 75 years old. There was more than enough room in the house for us all and it never once felt crowded. Amenities were great and communication throughout was fantastic. We barely left the house as we didn't feel the need to. There was a great park a few minutes walk away which was perfect for the kids. We are already considering another visit here, thank you
Stacey
Accommodation was much better than expected. Clean throughout, loads of room in house to relax. The bedrooms were massive. Well equipped with towels, cutlery, dinner set. When contacted through WhatsApp with question answered promptly and satisfactory. Already thinking about next occasion we can use house for. Love it.
It is really an amazing cottage and we had a wonderful stay here . The cottage was clean and tidy . The bed and towel were in good quality, soft and comfortable. We all can have a good sleep . There are many entertainment facilities and broad games . The kitchen is large enough and a lot of cooking tools for us 3 families to prepare meals.

Everything was Perfect

Weve just had 4 nights in the property. The place is huge and the photos dont give a true idea of scale. 13 of us and 2 dogs were easily accommodated. The games room and hot tub were in excellent condition in line with the rest of the property. The kitchen and dining areas were vast and well equipped for sizeable groups and dont think 19 people would be an issue at all. We had 2 small problems whilst on site one with the hot tub being too hot! but both were dealt with very quickly. The hot tub temp was dealt with remotely. Only minor niggle which we fed back was that the bins were full on arrival which seems to be a relatively common theme for rentals in residential settings. One thing to ensure you ask for post booking would be the floor plan to ensure you understand the slightly quirky room layouts and which rooms can be converted from superkings to twins. It may be useful if this was provided in clearer detail in the advert. All in all an amazing property. Well maintained and equipped, warm and spacious!
The house was lovely and so clean. There was so much space for everyone. The location was perfect
