Valerie
Fantastic location. Well equipped kitchen. Warm even when snowing outside! Cleanliness ok though some areas missed. Dog friendly but outside areas are not fenced in any way.

Really comfortable modern lodge in the middle of the forest. Very spacious and well appointed with everything from John Lewis from the sofa bed to the plates. Very convenient for skiing at Aviemore and exploring the highlands.
Duncan
Great accommodation, location, amenities, well though out. Our only gripe was that the outdoor furniture was not clean covered in bird droppings due to hanging bird feeder overhead which no means to hose down and clean which means we didn't use the outdoor area, which we had been looking forward to. hence 4 out of 5 stars otherwise it would have been 5 stars
Very comfortable quiet lodge ,best bed ive slept in in a holiday accommodation, very well thought out lay out will equipment store, covered area before entering front door to remove wet mucky boots etc and a covered outdoor seating area with log burner. We are hoping to return soon

It was our 3rd visit in the exact same lodge in past 4 years. And would definitely come back in the future. The lodge is very clean and have all you need to make your stay comfortable. Location is perfect for people who love hiking. Walks in the forests. Ideal for walks with the dog.
Jennifer
We really enjoyed our stay but the were a couple of issues unfortunately. Some of the dishes and glasses were still dirty, the frying pan in particular was caked in something omelette? The recycling was full when we arrived and had not been emptied when we left a week later. I understand the concept of uncut wild grass outside the lodges, but it looks bad I note your promo photos show cut grass!. There are hundreds of sq miles in the area for wild grass. You should cut it.

We had a wonderful stay in Golden Eagle Lodge. It was clean, warm, very homely. We noted that the first floor bath was very slow draining, so we tended to use the downstairs shower only. Otherwise, this property made for a great first time stay in the beautiful Cairngorms. Many thanks for everything.
Overall very good just a couple of minor issues
The property is spacious and comfortable. Bedrooms are roomy and we love the balconies looking out on the surrounding forest. The location is very peaceful with plenty of local walks.
Spacious, private, well equipped and in a lovely setting. Plenty to do nearby for all types of visitors families, dog owners, hikers, adventure seekers.
The property was very clean and very well equipped. The only problem we had was that there is no mirror in the twin bedroom or upstairs bathroom. Everything else was perfect and we would definitely recommend to others and stay again. Thank you
William
Fabulous Location Surrounded by beautiful forest, areas of interest within driving distance and you can get to local whisky distilleries down the road. Loved getting up early in the morning and walking around the forests that are literally outside the door.
Nicola
Lovely lodge, very well equipped which made it feel a little home from home. Lovely areas to explore close by. Would recommend.
Lovely lovely property home from home. Very clean and modern every thing you needed was there. Kitchen was very well equipped nice touches such as dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid and soap in bathrooms. Decor was very modern. Would highly recommend.
Robert
A lovely lodge in a wonderful location. Great for peace and quiet but close enough to some fantastic walks and activities.
Andrew
This lodge was beautiful and in a lovely, peaceful woodland setting. The lodge was extremely comfortable and welcoming. Being in a remote woodland setting, we also got to experience spotting wildlife, including a Pine Marten, Hare and Badger which was a bonus! Our only criticism would be that we didn't bring any pets but it was clear from dog hair on the sofa that pets had previously stayed in the lodge and the sofa wasn't hoovered properly. Although not a big issue for us it could be for other guests, especially if they have allergies.
Alasdair
Lovely house in a wonderful setting.
What a lovely place! ! Great location, super relaxing, really well maintained, stylishly decorated, spotlessly clean. One small disappointment was that the king sized rooms only contained double beds and the mattresses were a little worn. It wouldnt stop us returning though!
Shirley
Lovely and Quiet. Well equipped. Wonderful location.
Perfect holiday getaway, amenities as described, clean and comfortable, perfect base locationfor exploring the cairngorms. Only downside and wouldn't hold it against the provider due to location is the Internet speed and possibly note in the welcome pack prior to arriving the inability to stream netflix so people can bring alternatives. Will definitely be returning in the future.
Lovely location and a very comfortable property! Lovely big bedrooms and lots of space! Everything there to be able to have a home from home holiday.
Need new cleaners been here several times and always been
It was our second stay at the lodge. Two years in a row in September and we are loved. The place is so well located for walkers hikers etc. Plenty of walks with the dog. The lodge itself is just brilliant nice clean and comfortable. The fire pit on the deck is perfect for spending every evening sitting by the fire till late at night. Located in the middle of the forest surrounded by beautiful Caringorms Forest and if the sky is cloudfree the amount of stars you are able to see is amazing. We are looking already to book this again for next year.
Richard
Outstanding lodge, well equipped and very comfortable. first visit to Scotland for us and after a days adventures theres nothing more comfortable then relaxing and the golden eagle lodge was the place for us. Tired to book for Christmas but unfortunately no availability
Richard
Brilliant stay as always
We had a fantastic time at Golden Eagle Lodge. The cottage was very clean and beautifully presented. The location is stunning, perfect for a relaxing getaway. We cant wait to come back! Thank you!
Incredible Lodge in Perfect Location. We stayed for a week with family and really enjoyed our stay plenty of walks hikes, evenings with the fire and BBQ. Lodge it self is very comfortable and nicely decorated with all appliances, cutlery you need for your stay. Enjoyed so much that we are already rebooked for September 2023
Wonderful lodge, cannot fault it. Could do with a kitchen knife set
This property is amazing! We were a family group parents with 3 children and 2 grandparents. The bedrooms are a generous size and the twin room accommodated a large air bed with ample space to move around. The facilities were first class. The access to the woods from the rear of the property and the river beyond was amazing particularly as we were able to enjoy a few days of summer weather. Loch Insh outdoor centre only a couple of minutes from the property was also a favourite place to visit.
Suzanne
Golden Eagle Lodge is well equipped and comfortable, perfect for our needs. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Downstairs shower room is fabulous, great shower. Kitchen is good with everything we required for our stay. Living and dining area comfortable and can be made very cosy with the wood burner. Loved the covered patio too with the outdoor wood burner. Would definitely stay here again.
Lovely lodge in beautiful surroundings. We will certainly book again.
Golden Eagle lodge was a great place to stay modern, warm, comfortable. It could be improved with a few extra small touches, like a proper mirror in the upstairs bathroom, a bigger clothes rack and a bit more storage space upstairs. On the whole, though, it was amongst the best selfcatering lets Ive stayed in.
Superb accommodation in an ideal setting for exploring everything the Highlands have to offer. This was our second stay and have already booked a third. The only criticism is that the washing machine was out of order when we arrived and had been the previous week. It was not repaired before we left. Its a really important feature if you are mountain biking.
Kayleigh
Fantastic lodges in such an idyllic setting in the heart of the Cairngorms. Only a minutes walk from the River and the woodland itself is home to an abundance of wildlife. My boys particularly liked the fruit bats that visited when we spent the evening outdoors by the fire. Only not so positive things I would say is that the hob and oven aren't great, and the washing machine was out of action. As others had said, the wee hoover smells like pets, but I found some new bags in the utility cupboard, I think the last few guest parties had used the same bag! Took nearly 30mins to cook a shop bought pizza in the oven, and we struggled to boil an egg on the hob with average timings. Aside from that, such a beautiful place to retreat to right out in the sticks. Plenty of space with full occupancy, and enough crockery and cutlery for all. Bedding and towels superb quality and controls for heating etc were easy to navigate.
Beautiful location in the woods, quiet and peaceful. Lovely walks on the doorstep along the river and through the trees. Lots to do nearby, went paddle boarding and canoeing on Loch Insh, wildlife park nearby, Aviemore close for eating out, food etc, lots of outdoor sports. The lodge was lovely, everything new and beautifully furnished. Lots of space, loved the outdoor area with the fire, lots of parking. Comfy beds. Only criticism more mirrors needed upstairs, also more cups. Would definitely return here, best Sykes cottage yet.
We were reluctant to use the vacuum cleaner as it smelt so strongly of dog hairs. This left a very unpleasant smell in the lodge. Better signage and information is needed about recycling. Most of the other guests failed to use the correct bins for their rubbish which negated our efforts.
We had a lovely family holiday the house was spacious and modern lovely furnishings. Surrounding area was beautiful .
The Lodges are excellent quality, beautifully decorated and with all furnishings and equipment from John Lewis. The facilities at the lodges are great but the bikedog wash area requires a minor repairs to the hose. The area is brilliant with varied walks and cycle trails on the door step.
