Masada Reviews

Jennie
We spent one week in early April at Masada House two families with chidren ranging from 6 to 14, plus a dog. It had absolutely everything we needed we used the hot tub which is huge!, the pizza oven, and the barbecue. We cooked all out meals at home becuase the kitchen was also really well stocked with equipment etc. We even did some baking. We enjoyed a lovely walk from the front door through a beautiful woods to the Commando Memorial, we did whisky tasting in Oban, and we explored the gorgeous bays from Cuil, taking in Castle Stalker as well. I felt that we could have spent a month here and not run out of things to do! The place has lots of atmosphere and was just perfect for both families to chill out in their own space, then come together for some really memorable evenings. Thank you so much thoroughly recommend and I hope we will be back one day!
Everyone which means adults and teenagers and a child enjoyed the house. We had to contact the owner and the caretaker and both were excellent in helping solve the minor problems which could not have been anticipated by them before our arrival but happened whilst we were there. The hottub was a great boon. For us it would have been better to have had two rooms of twin beds rather than teenagers having to share doubles but they said they were ok with it before we booked the house having read that was the situation. A bigger toaster would be helpful and we never found a tray so were not sure if there was one or not but these are very much minor issues only. Also if the cupboard by the back door was empty we would have used it for shoes but again this is a minor issue. Being near so many hills was great for the hill walkers among us. The river side and commando monument walk was a delight to have an hour of walking whatever the weather. Fort William is near and some went to the cinema and bowling when it was a wet day. It has been one of the best holiday houses for our annual family gettogethers.

We had an amazing time at Masada. The house had plenty on room, it was clean and well maintained. The welcome basket was a beautiful touch! We would have loved to know more about the history of the house so info on that being available would be great!
Brendan
Excellent property in a fantastic location Our group will definitely return
Andrew
A comfortable and roomy house with a spacious garden and a fine view.
Darryn
Beautiful property in a beautiful location. Very well maintained. Had everything we needed for a multi familydog holiday. Would love to return sometime.
Masada is a wonderful property and suited our requirements perfectly The location is superb and surrounding areas are beautiful Our dogs absolutely loved it ! Hot tub was amazing No complaints but perhaps a few suggestions to improve Although the kitchen was well presented there were one or two omissions A pair of scissors would be useful and maybe a sieve and some scales for those who might like to bake. We couldn't find a mop and bucket in the event of any spillages also the welcome pack advised that there would be dishwasher tabletsThere was only the empty packet ! The welcome pack mentioned a local fish and chip shop at the hotel in Speen BridgeThere isn't one as the hotel and chip shop has closed The nearest one open was at Fort William so the welcome pack needs updating Finally, clothing and children's toys from previous visitors was found in some of the bedroom drawers So, no complaints only constructive feedback Thanks for a fabulous stay
Giselle
Masada was comfortable and a lovely place to relax with fabulous views. Few things in the kitchen were dirty and the back entrance that you mainly use could do with attention considering the star rating given, the tv WiFi was very intermittent
Melanie
The house was amazing and the hot tub so wonderful and welcome on a chilly evening. The view was spectacular. We had very quick responses from the owners when we needed to contact them so that was super helpful. I would highly recommend, especially for a large group of people. We were 10 and it still felt very spacious. Thank you very much!
Has a wonderful stay at Masada, the trip to Fort William was our first and will not be our last. Communication was excellent and the cottage had the most breathtaking views. Unfortunately just before our stay we were notified the hot tub was out of action
Deborah
Masada is a spacious and comfortable house, in an excellent location for walking and sightseeing. The newly fitted kitchen and bathrooms are lovely. Staying as a group of 10 friends, we particularly appreciated the excellent showers, with loads of hot water. We also loved the fact that there were plentiful appliances three fridgefreezers, two dishwashers and a great selection of glassware and crockery. The owner was extremely quick to respond when we needed to contact him. We would thoroughly recommend a stay at Masada House.
Andrew
We had a wonderful stay at Masada. Even with a large group of 14 there was lots of space for dining and socialising. It's a fantastic house and the location and views could not be better if you want a highland retreat for a large group. Easy access to the village and near lots of amazing forest, hill and loch side walks. The kitchen is very well equipped and we cooked family meals every day with plenty of space for company for the chefs. The hot tub was a great addition. I'd have no second thoughts to recommend Masada or to stay here again. Great value, thank you!
Alastair

Alexandra
A lovely property with a super kitchen. We loved the aga! The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable as were the lounge and dining room. The bathrooms need updating but were adequate for our stay. Great communication with the owner and maintenance man. Lovely hot tub too! Good location for a Ben Nevis climb!
Patricia
A beautiful house with outstanding view. The kitchen was imaginatively modernised and well equipped, keeping in mind the number of people who would be using it. The decoration in bedrooms and living rooms was sympathetic to their original period, giving a good ambiance to the house. The only drawback was the bathrooms, which were adequate if you werent too fussy! The lock on the back door gave problems, but the response from the caretaker was very prompt. The hot tub was much enjoyed, with no midges in sight!
Kirsty
Thankyou for a wonderful stay in such a beautiful house. Loved the piano, hot tub and the fire pit! Great for a family gathering or friends alike.
Connie
