Eildan Reviews

A superb house with amazing mountain views. Hoping to return!
Stuart
We had a wondeful comfortable stay at Eildan, the scenery is second to none. The lodge was very well equiped, evrything required was there. I would hope to return sometime in the future.

We spent a wonderful week here over Christmas and couldnt have asked for a better place to experience the Scottish Highlands. The location near Fort William is absolutely stunning, with breathtaking scenery in every direction and easy access to walks, viewpoints, and local amenities. The property itself was warm, comfortable, and very well equipped exactly what you want for a winter stay in the Highlands. It felt welcoming from the moment we arrived, and the cosy atmosphere made it a perfect base for relaxing evenings after exploring during the day. Spending Christmas here was truly special, with the peaceful surroundings and beautiful landscape adding to the festive feel. Everything was clean, well maintained, and thoughtfully set up for a longer stay. We appreciated the quiet setting while still being close enough to Fort William for shops, restaurants, and excursions. Overall, a fantastic stay in a beautiful part of the world. We wouldnt hesitate to return and would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a comfortable, scenic Highland getaway especially at Christmas.

Was a perfect stay! We stayed here at Eildan for a week in November. The house is lovely and has everything you need for your stay. We originally had some issues with the heating and the hob. But we were well informed and kept being updated and the things were resolved. Couldnt fault Malcolm and Nancy. Only one little advice put a little roofcanopy on over the hot tub. As there was some nights where we had rain and wind and this would have been ideal. But wouldnt change it otherwise.
We as a family loved our time Eildan, we loved it all being on one level. It was beautiful to walk into such a light fresh decor, finishing touches to the home are perfect. You will need a car to go anywhere but we fully expected that, and it is worth it for the pure peace and quiet youll find there, and the views oh the views ! I wish I was back there in the hot tub right now enjoying them. I did have to contact the owner with a question which was answered very promptly and thoroughly. We would not hesitate to book this beautiful home again nor recommend it, we truly look forward to returning in the future. Thank you for having us
Louise
The house was lovely and the location was perfect. However, there were a large amount of cobwebs in the vaulted ceilings. The outside bins were overflowing on our arrival and were not emptied during our stay. The coffee pods provided were not compatible with the coffee machine and we could not find the charger for the Bluetooth speaker. We also could not find scissors, pizza wheel or a bottle opener. These are all minor points that can be easily rectified. The lodge was amazing and we would recommend it to anyone. Thank you.
Firstly the directions from Sykes travelling from North is wrong. Once you cross the canal you turn left the directions say right. The miles quoted to various attractions again is wrong. eg Ben Nevis 2 miles. When we arrived at the property the Hot Tub was open and it was only 34 full meaning the jets were below the waterline. The mat as you come in the back door was covered in, what I am assuming, was dog hair. The cleaning in general was mediocre. Debris under the Sofa as well as under the sofa cushions and chairs in the corners of the kitchen. The sofa was covered in white dog hair as this was seen on my nieces clothes as she only wears black. The oven door was brown. The skirtings and bathroom radiators were dusty. The table decoration was covered in dust. There were lots of spiders

Eildan was the most wonderful property in the most amazing part of the world. The quality of the property and the views from this property were amazing
Stephanie
Lovely property with fabulous views! Spacious and comfortable with everything you need for a home from home stay. Lots to do in the surrounding area but having a car is essential. Highly recommend the train ride from Fort William to Mallaig we did Scot Rail and the seal island boat trip from Fort William.
Tracey
We have just come back from our stay at Eildan and had a wonderful time. The lodge was home from home well equipped and comfortable . We were a family of 6 and of three generations and the accommodation gave us space and versatility to allow privacy but also to be together. We opted for the twin bedrooms to be altered into doubles and the owners were more than happy to make the changes. Likewise when we had a problem with the hot tub they responded as quickly as possible. The accommodation is approximately 20 minute drive from Fort William centre so it is important you stock up with all food items as there is no convenience store near by. Likewise the main town is where there is the best selection of pubs, cafes and restaurants. We had a perfect week of weather and the views of Ben Nevis was amazing from the outside decking area. If you would like a picturesque, quiet and spacious accommodation then Eildan is the perfect holiday retreat.
A wonderful holiday home in a beautiful environment. Plenty of space in and around the house. Friendly and helpful owners! We would be very glad to come back!
Sharon
Lovely property in an amazing location. Brilliant if you plan to do Ben Nevis. The views are incredible, and its fairly remote and peaceful whilst still being close enough to Fort William to still allow easy access to amenities. We were not ready to leave and I would definitely recommend this property to others.
Jonathan
This was our second time staying at Eildan and we had a super stay. The layout really suits our needs having older family members who have mobility challenges and the house is spacious, airy and flows really well. The views are superb and it sits in an excellent location that is close enough to amenities in Fort William but secluded enough to offer tranquility. There are plenty of small walks to take in the surrounding area along the canal and we really enjoyed exploring the locality.
Great spot for exploring Ben Nevis et al.
Caroline
This property was amazing. Such a beautiful place, peaceful, relaxing, great facilities, hot tub was amazing and in a great location to explore. Fantastic location for walking Ben Nevis. The property was well kept, the owners had thought of everything and responded to any queries questions. Such a fantastic place to spend a week away in rain or sunshine. I would totally recommend staying here.
Claire
What a fantastic place to stay we did not want to leave it was ideal for my elderly mum and disabled child. Its definitely on our list of places to go back to.
The listing is not accurate there is not a pub 0. 6 miles from the property nearest one is 4.5 miles away on a busy road that isnt walkable. We would not have chosen this property had we known, which would have been a shame as it is wonderful and we had a great week, Ben Nevis Visitors Centre is 10 miles away not 2. Nearest shop about 4 miles. Its about a 30 minute drive to the centre of Fort William The property is wonderful with fabulous views, very well equipped, clean, warm and comfortable, we had a wonderful week and would highly recommend, this stunning property. A couple of points for the owner the hot tub could be warmer, and BBQ which we only used once had seen better days.
The property is clean and comfortable with most stunning views. A great find and we all had a lovely time there despite the weather! This can be published against the property This following info is for the owner .. We were three couples who all loved the house and thought it was comfortable and new with good accessories and equipment. Stunning views The outside needs to be slightly more finished around the house but all in all fabulous. Couple of things to point out if you want feedback. The towel rail in the bedroom at the back does not work The gutters are overflowing so they need attention before they damage the property. We had so much rain that we watched this a lot! Would be nice if there were mirrors in the two single bedded rooms If there had been eight of us the seating in the lounge is a little tight but luckily we were only six! I know there are two other chairs in the kitchen but they arent that comfy. We would have enjoyed the hot tub more despite the weather had it been a few degrees hotter but lovely surprise to have it there. Not sure it was mentioned in the details. Please dont take this as criticism as we were more than happy and satisfied but just thought these few things would be a nice addition. Scotland is amazing and we had a great time. Thank you
We had the most amazing holiday and absolutely loved the property. I would thoroughly recommend this accommodation, and look forward to staying here next year when we visit the area for the Scottish Six Days Trial.
It was a stunning and beautifully furnished property, the views of Nevis range were amazing from both the inside and outside on the deck. Quality fixtures, soft furnishings and everything you could possibly need for a self catering holiday. Owner available if required and very helpful. Absolutely no complaints just a little feedback would be for a socket near the mirror & a seat for hair drying and also maybe door hooks and more shelving in the bathrooms would not hesitate to return or recommend!
Jonathan
Eildan is a new, spacious, wellappointed holiday home. We had a great stay here it is nicely situated with beautiful views of the surrounding area with plenty of privacy whilst only being 1520 mins to Fort William. The house was clean with all of the facilities that we required. There is plenty of outdoor space and once the garden and outdoor areas have become more established bearing in mind we stayed when it was essentially newly built it will be even nicer.
Louise
A beautiful holiday home with amazing views. Eildan is perfect for a base to explore the highlands. Its very comfortable, immaculately clean and well equipped with all you need. Hot tub was a lovely bonus , but do take care getting in and out as the steps are not fixed to the ground. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and will highly recommend it to family and friends.
Coleman
Our family of four rented this lovely, completely new property about 4 miles north of Fort Williams. The home was in a rural, extremely quiet location and took full advantage of beautiful views over the Highlands from the large deck and windows. The Caledonia canal and Loch Lochy are walking distance, and many other trails including Ben Nevis and walks from Spean Bridge are a 1015 minute car ride away. The house was very well supplied for selfcatering and would have been comfortable with a larger group. We appreciated the washer and dryer and the dishwasher. You will need a car at this property as it is a drive for services, but if you are looking for peace and quiet in a tranquil Highlands setting, you will find it here.
Pallavi
We had a fabulous stay! The house was comfortable and the views beautiful!!! We had a bit of trouble with hot water on the first day, but the property owners were super helpful and promptly got the issue sorted!
