Glenspey Reviews

Our annual trip to Scotland brought us back to the Highlands, and we chose Glenspey this year because it could accommodate our large group and was dog friendly both of which were perfect for us. The location is excellent, with the shops and railway station only a short walk away. There is plenty of offroad parking, plus a large area at the rear for storing bikes, which was really useful. Inside, the foyer and lounge are spacious, comfortable, and well furnished. The dining room features a large table, making it ideal for our whole group to enjoy communal meals together at the same time. The kitchen is well equipped with a double oven, hob, microwave, and everything else we needed, although it could benefit from a little more lighting. There is also a laundry room with a washing machine, separate tumble dryer, and bottle fridge. We used this as a drying room after outdoor activities, and for those who enjoy the outdoors, a dehumidifier would make it even better. The bedrooms are spacious and all have ensuite bathrooms. A couple of small improvements could be adding bathslip mats and providing a bit more hanging space for coats in some rooms. During our stay we had an issue with the boiler not supplying hot water, but Robert and Peter, the owners, responded incredibly quickly and were extremely helpful. An engineer arrived within the hour, which was amazing given the late afternoon timing and remote location, and the issue was resolved promptly. Overall, we would definitely return to Glenspey. A fantastic stay with outstanding service, quality accommodation, and a superb location 1010.
Glenspey is a lovely big comfortable house and was perfect for our group. We had a couple of small issues that were resolved very quickly so no complaints. Kingussie is a beautiful area with the Cairngorms just a few miles away and lots of cycling tracks on the doorstep. Ruthven barracks and the Highland Folk Museum just along the road in Newtonmore are well worth a visit.

Brilliant accommodation for large groups. Plenty of room and maintained to a high standard. Couldnt have asked for better and owners were extremely helpful with quick responses to any questions we had. Highly recommend.
Great hosts, Peter and Robert, who were always available for advice both prior to the holiday and during our stay. Some very minor snags were sorted immediately and our requests were swiftly acknowledged and sorted. Some great walks around Kingussie, very friendly locals. Allinall our party of 19 had an extremely memorable and enjoyable New Year a great start to the New Year. Our sincere thanks to our hosts, Peter and Robert we will be back if you'll have us!!
We had a wonderful stay at Glenspey over the Christmas season and would not hesitate to book again. We particularly loved that the house was fully decorated for Christmas and was warm & cosy perfect for enjoying time together with all the family. The house is great for gathering as a group but also has a few spaces where you can have some quiet time. The kitchen is well equipped and we could easily cook each day for 14 people. If you need some specific equipment, I suggest to ask in advance if the house has it e.g. we brought our own coffee machine to suit personal preferences. And, not to be underestimated, we also appreciated how quickly the owner answered our questions and provided all the details we needed.
We are just home from a great weekend at Glenspey. As a group of 13 ranging from 10 to 78 there was plenty of space for all of us. First impressions were great with lovely big bowl of fruit and biscuits left for us and tea and coffee facilities in all the bedrooms. The kitchen was well stocked and two ovens and dishwashers helped with the large numbers when cooking. The sofas and beds were all very comfortable with plenty of space for all. The kids loved playing with the air hockey table. The dogs were looked after with blankets, bowls and a great secure garden for them too.

Glenspey is in a fantastic location in Kingussie, with easy driving access to Aviemore, the Cairngorms, and many other beautiful spots. Our group of 20 11 adults and 9 children had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The house had everything we could possibly need. The ensuite bedrooms were perfectalmost like staying in hotel rooms, with the added bonus of teacoffee facilities and TVs in each room. The spacious dining room, adjacent to a large sitting area, was ideal for group meals and gatherings. The kitchen was fully equipped, and the lounge area by the kitchen was perfect for entertaining. The kids loved the games room, especially the air hockey table! Theres also outdoor space at the rear which we didnt get a chance to use much, but we did enjoy sitting at the front with a morning coffee. We took trips to Loch Morlich, Loch Inch, Aviemore, the Cairngorms, and explored Kingussieall wonderful experiences. We would highly recommend staying at Glenspey and will definitely be returning. The hosts were amazing and incredibly helpful with any questions we had too.
We have just come back from our long weekend for celebrating a 30th birthday. We had a large group aging from 3 61. All members of the family loved the house! We commented on how everywhere and everything was very clean. There was more than enough space everywhere, bedrooms were comfy and the whole place was well stocked with things for a larger group of people. We loved all the homely extras that were added from milk in the fridge on arrival, biscuits, fruit, all the extras for taking a dog, to the teascoffeebiscuits in every bedroom. The owners were great in replying and getting back to me with numerous questions and requests which helped massively for us. We all had a great time and would love to come back. Thanks!

We stayed at this beautiful property in Kingussie from 6th to 8th June as a group of 7 families 18 adults, 5 children, and 2 dogs and it was one of the most memorable group holidays we've had! The house is absolutely stunning, both inside and out. With 9 spacious ensuite bedrooms, it easily accommodated our large group while still feeling homely and welcoming. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered the kitchen was incredibly well stocked with everything from oil, salt, sugar, tea, and cooking essentials to dishwasher and laundry tablets. They even had a generous supply of chocolates and candies waiting for us such a sweet and thoughtful gesture! There were two large dining tables that could seat 30 people, making it easy and enjoyable for us all to sit down and share meals together. Cooking as a group in the spacious kitchen and dining together was a highlight of our trip. The property is petfriendly and even included snug blankets and food for the dogs a lovely surprise. Our two dogs had a great time playing in the back garden, which also had easy access to recycling and rubbish disposal. The kids especially enjoyed the games room with the air hockey table, while adults relaxed in the comfortable living spaces or outdoors in the front garden seating area. Each room had teamaking facilities, and bathrooms were stocked with soap and body wash, adding to the overall comfort. Checkin was smooth and easy, with keys left in a secure lockbox and the owners texting us early to let us know the house was ready ahead of schedule. During the stay, a curtain rail came loose we informed the owners during checkout and they were so kind and relaxed, simply saying, not to worry at all. The location is ideal as well peaceful and scenic, with lovely walks nearby and easy access to everything Kingussie has to offer. Were already talking about returning possibly even for Christmas and I would absolutely recommend this property to anyone planning a group getaway. Everything was clean, comfortable, wellorganised, and generously equipped. Truly a gem of a place!

We stayed at Glenspey Cottage as a big family of ninethree kids and six adults, and it honestly couldnt have been more perfect for us. The house is huge it sleeps 22!, so we had loads of space to spread out. It was great knowing that if anyone wanted a bit of quiet time, they could easily find a cosy corner for themselves. The moment we walked in, the kids were literally jumping up and down with excitement shouting wow! thats how beautiful the place is. Its warm, welcoming, and has absolutely everything you might need. The rooms are spacious, the beds super comfy, and the kitchen is really well equipped for family meal prep. The game room was a massive hit with the kids! It kept them happily entertained in the evenings. As for the location, its brilliant if youre keen to explore the Highlands. We did day trips to Pitlochry, Inverness, Fort Augustus, Fort William and a few other spots, all within about an hour or so drive. It really felt like a home away from home, and wed go back in a heartbeat. Cant recommend it enough.
